Return Policy

The return policy for LightingSelection.com is a simple one. You may return for a refund any lighting fixture or related product that has not been used, minus a 25% restocking fee and the initial shipping cost, within 30 days of the receipt of your order. It must be in its original box and in resalable condition. The fixture cannot have been installed or modified in any way. The fixture must be enclosed in the original box with sufficient packaging material and have a Return Merchandise Number (RMA#), issued by LightingSelection.com, on the returned box.

 Items and orders that do not qualify for returns or refund:

  • Large Orders over $3500.00 . (Call for exceptions.)
  • Light Bulbs, Shades, Parts, and custom orders (unless they are defective) do not qualify for returns unless the error was the fault of LightingSelection.com.
  • Items that are not purchased from LightingSelection.com are not eligible to be returned.
  • Special Purchases, such as: Inventory Sale Items, Special Discounts, Custom Quotes and the like.
  •  Shipping charges for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada and internationally are all non-refundable.
  • Items that are specially shipped by individual freight companies due to size, fragility and any other necessity cannot be returned.

 "Large Orders" Return Policy
It is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that they have all the necessary information and that all their questions have been answered before their order is placed.  “Large Orders” may not be returned.  If you are purchasing a large quantity of an item we recommend first purchasing a sample to make sure that the product meets your requirements and that you are completely satisfied with the product.

Custom Made, Non-Returnable Products
The following is a list of manufacturer lines that are custom made and are non-returnable:
2nd Avenue Design, A-19, Inc., Architectural Details, Inc., Arroyo Craftsman, Crystorama Lighting,  Hubbardton Forge, Justice Design Group (excluding bisque or unfinished items), Kalco, Hanover Lighting and any additional custom manufacturer lines that are added after this list was created.

Return Policy for Products Damaged During Shipment and Defective Products
After receiving your shipment, you have three days to  inform LightingSelection.com of any defects or damages that occurred during shipment, prior to delivery. If you ascertain that  your product is defective or was damaged during shipping, please follow the procedures for contacting Customer Service as stated below in: "Procedure for Returning Products". We will replace or repair at the discretion of Lightingselection.com the damaged or defective goods for no additional charge, but if a return is desired the restocking fees will apply. If you fail to notify LightingSelection.com within 3 days of delivery of any defective or damaged merchandise, LightingSelection.com is not responsible for the defective or damaged product. We  will not be able to service you with a replacement or refund if the three -day notification is not followed  Please inspect your package immediately upon having received it for shipping damages.  We cannot take responsibility for shipping damages if we are not notified in the above prompt manner.

Return Policy for International Shipments
Items being returned from locations outside of the continental United States are subject to a 50% restocking fee.  Any additional shipping costs incurred are non-refundable.

Procedure for Returning Products
Returns must include the original box, packaging, and all accessories. To initiate the return process, fill out our Returns Form here. You will be issued a Return Merchandise Authorization Number (RMA#) and return shipment instructions.  After receiving the Return Merchandise Authorization Number, you will have 30 days in which to return the product to LightingSelection.com. After the 30 days, the Return Authorization will expire and no replacements or refunds will be given.

Products that are Damaged During Return Shipment
 LightingSelection.com will not be able to issue the customer a refund or credit if the product is damaged during return shipment back to LightingSelection.com. We will inform the customer via email that the item(s) were received damaged.  We will then hold the damaged product up to 45 days allowing time for the customer to file a claim. The customer's responsibility is to file a claim with the shipping carrier and to instruct LightingSelection.com concerning the disposition of the damaged product. The item will be field destroyed if LightingSelection.com has not received notification or response from the customer within 45 days.
Refunds

Once we have received the returned item and the item has been inspected by LightingSelection.com, the customer will be refunded.  Only  if the return is a result of our error will we refund shipping costs.

Order Cancellations
 As long as the item was not manufactured specifically for you, unshipped items can be cancelled. Some items involve a manufacturer's cancellation fee. The  customer is liable for this fee.
